Monkeys don’t scare me. They don’t look like humans and don’t act like humans. I see no reflection of myself in their eyes. Apes on the other hand are like creepy mutant psycho hillbillys. They scare the crap out of me. Looking at Chimpanzees is like getting a glimpse into a post nuclear-apocalyptic future might be, or a distant ultra-violent cannibalistic past. Ew. This is true of chimpanzees, bonobos and orangutans. Not as true of gorillas for some reason. Did you know that chimpanzees will set up ellaborate, coordinated ambushes for monkeys and then rip them apart in a violent screaming lustful orgy of carnivorism?

Apes….*shudders*
